Seth Rogen Interview on Bill Maher Show

This is an interview on the Bill Maher show. they interview Seth Rogen. The way the interview is structured is done really well, this is because at the beginning of the interview they talk about his now movie 'The Interview'.  They then start talking about the casting for the movie, and then onto why the did this movie. Seth Rogen explains that he has always been fascinated by North Korea, and there rules. The interview then goes onto a lot of different topics, such as smoking 'Weed' and then onto a darker topic of 'Rape'. But the thing they did well was they handled the topic very light-heatedly. This just shows that the style of the interview was both promotional and entertainment. but with a bit of hard news.

The structure of the interview was done really well because they started of with a promotional aspect(The Movie). Then the moved onto a comical topic(Smoking Weed At Work), and then they moved onto a more serous topic of rape. The way they did this was very good and they way the put it all together was done really well. They kept very good rapport though out this interview by keeping good laughter and good eye contact. they also used a lot of hand gestures and body language. This all help the interview keep good speed and conversations as well as deep distinction.
The questions asked were very open questions this is to get the discussion going and to get a good conversation going. This then lead onto other conversations through direct questioning.
The journalistic context of the interview is very television, this is because its a chat show and they use the context to be very fluid and very on going.

Andy Shares talking about My Chemical Romance

This is an interview about the breaking up of a band by the name of My Chemical Romance. This us a band that for years made a name for themselves as the Punk Rock band. They are known as one of the best bands in there genera, and the lead singer of a  much younger band by the name of Black Vail Brides, talk about how Gerard Way, the lead singer of MCR was an inspiration to him and that his was a rare talent and the world need more men like him. He then goes on to talk about how the band inspired a lot of the music that they do and the videos to them. they talk about how Andy Shares didn't like MCR at first because they had too many fans but when he started listening to them he was instantly inspired and this inspired his band to do what they do now.

Now getting down to the technical terms of the interview. The questions asked in this interview was very suggestive and direct. This was to get the answers from Andy and get the discussion going. then the questions turned direct as the interviewer asked him about the band and the way that Andy may have felt toward them. The actual questions themselves were mostly open questions. this was to allow Andy to express himself in the answers and show real feeling toward the band.
In another technical use, The structure of the interview was done well, this was because at the beginning of the interview it talks about how Andy likes Gerard and how he respects him, They then talk about Andy's childhood and the way the music he listened to, and then they talk about how MCR inspired him and his band to do what they do and how they do there music videos. The actual style of the interview itself would be investigative but also promotional. this is because they talk about MCR and the way that Andy was influenced by MCR and this made them do the music they do and the way that the record there music videos.
The journalistic context of the interview was more emotional with a hint of television. This was because the content of the interview touche Andy and you could see that the words he was using and the thought he had put into using them was very emotional and the theme was very sensitive. This was because MCR inspired him and he is the man he is today because of them. This leads onto my final point about the actual interview content. The context was very expressing, emotional and explaining opinion. this was all because of the structure of the interview and the way that the interviewer engaged with the audience and the way that they made the interview a lot more interesting.

Baracka Obama's Interview By Ellen

In this interview between President Baracka Obama and interviewer Ellen.

While watching this interview i decided to take note of everything i could see and anything that may be important. also the way they asked the questions, an what the topic of conversation was about. also the techniques that the interviewer uses and the way she builds confidence with the interviewee.

To start off i would like to talk about the question types that are used in this interview. I had noticed that at the beginning of the interview they start off by Ellen apologizing to Obama in a jokey way about breaking his twitter re-tweet record. This was to get the conversation going and make the audience laugh as well as herself and Obama. She then moved on to asking open questions about Obama's family life. his includes his wife on holiday and his children's life's. They talk about how his wife came to go on this holiday to china. and how his kids are excited because they had never been there before. but also the way the children are with Obama such as 'They don't spend time with him' and stuff like that. They also start discussing Obama's children wanting to get tattoo's and Obama's house rule that if any of his children get any tattoo's him and his wife are going to get the same one in the same place to 'take away the coolness of the tattoo'. Ellen then starts asking a few more open questions to do with Obama going shopping in  a 'GAP' store. This then leads onto a bit of informational questions and answers. they then start talking about the minimum wage being raised in america, and how 'GAP' have raised there's and that is why Obama went shopping there, so show support to a company that treats there staff with respect. All this concludes my result in saying the interview type was very un-formal but also informational.
The way that the interview is kept going and the 'Chit chat' is well kept means that the interviewer and the interviewee have both got well rapport, and they have very good body language with each other, there is also a good sense of active listening because Obama always keeps eye contact with the camera and same with Ellen.  It was hard to place a journalistic context onto the interview because of the way it was structured. but if i had to place a context it would be television with a bit of featuring.

The actual structure itself was done well, this is because without a good structure the interview wouldnt have been nearly as success full, but it was very informational and comical. This made the interview entertaining an made the viewers more interested.
